If your institution is signed up for Engage, you can set your preferred method of Authentication so that users are presented with only that login method when signing in. This ensures absolute clarity for parents and students when they log into your Institution’s Engage Platform for the first time.
For example: If your log in preference is set for Microsoft a student will be presented with the Sign in with Microsoft option only
If no log in preference is set, your users will have the default log in options available
Setting your log in preference
- Go to your Engage Admin Settings.
- Open Institution Settings
On the left, select Settings (gear icon).
- Find the 'Identity and Access' Section
Scroll to Log in Preference.
- Select your preferred sign-in methods:
Choose from available options (e.g. Microsoft, Google, email, library card).
Tick the box next to each method you want to allow.
- Save your changes.
Users will now only see the sign-in methods you selected.
Tip: You can update these preferences at any time as your institution’s needs change.
Many institutions use their preferred log in method in conjunction with their authorised domain to ensure students and parents log in with ease
If you have users that logged in previously and you have now se your preferred log in method, they can update their method of authentication on their existing account by following these simple steps Changing your method of authentication to Microsoft Changing your method of authentication to Google Changing your method of authentication to your Apple ID
