You can update a prescribed list at any time to ensure it stays aligned with your curriculum and learners’ needs. This guide outlines how to safely add or remove titles, the effects of editing published lists, and best practices for maintaining them.

Your prescribed list becomes live when you publish it. If you need to update your prescribed list (by adding or removing titles, or editing the user groups, for instance), you can only do so by unpublishing it.

Only the owner of the prescribed list can publish and unpublish a list. If you need to edit a list and you are not the owner, you will need to contact the owner to unpublish the list first.

Update the filter section to the curriculum or curriculum level to ensure that you find the required title you are searching for.
i.e. if the curriculum filter is set to CAPS and you are looking for an IEB title, update the curriculum filter to IEB so that you can find the related titles. Or if you are searching for a novel or literature title that is not aligned to a specific curriculum, remove all filters to see all titles.

Impact of Editing a Published List

ActionImpact
Unpublish ListUsers cannot view/purchase titles in the prescribed lists until republished.
Remove TitleThe title is no longer required; users may still retain access if already owned.
Add TitleNew title will be available to purchase once the list is republished.

When a prescribed list is unpublished, titles on the list will no longer reflect on each user's prescribed order, and users will no longer have Early Access to these titles (i.e. they will be automatically removed from the Snapplify Reader app, unless they have already been purchased). The list must be republished to restore access and ensure that students and staff purchase the correct titles.
