This article is for STUDENTS.

If your teacher has made an Engage group ‘joinable’, you’ll be able to join or exit the group easily by yourself.

Joining a joinable group

To join a joinable group in Engage:

  1. Navigate to the Engage Home page (the first page you see when you log in).
  2. In the ‘Groups’ block, you will be able to see a list of joinable groups based on your selected Curriculum level. This shows the groups you have joined and those that you can join.
  3. Find the name of the group you need to join and select the corresponding ‘Join’ button.
  4. When asked if you’re sure you want to join this group, click ‘Yes’.

The Groups block on the Home page only displays groups that have been set to 'joinable' by an administrator or teacher. You may belong to other non-joinable groups that are not listed here.

If you need to join a specific group and you cannot find it in the Groups block on the Home page, ask your teacher or school administrator if the group has been set to ‘joinable’.

Leaving a joinable group

To leave a joinable group in Engage:

  1. Navigate to the Engage Home page (this is the first page you see when you log in).
  2. In the ‘Groups’ block, you will be able to see a list of joinable groups that you are in, as well as others that you can join.
  3. Find the name of the group you need to leave and select the corresponding ‘Leave’ button.
  4. When asked if you’re sure you want to leave this group, click ‘Yes’.

Teachers or administrators may change the group settings at any time and remove the ability for users to join/leave specific groups. If you have added yourself to a group that is now no longer joinable, you will still be a member of that group unless a teacher/administrator has removed you.
