This article is for LIBRARIANS and ADMINISTRATORS.
A user with the Librarian role is able to set the loan duration (i.e. how long each library title can be checked out for) in either hours or days. Once the loan period is reached, the title is automatically returned to the Engage library for other users to check out.
Setting a loan period
To change the loan duration for the library in Engage:
- After logging in to Engage, navigate to the settings section by clicking the cog icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
- Click 'General Settings' in the navigation.
- Scroll to the Library section, then in the Loan Duration drop-down, select either Hours or Days, then define the number of hours or days that a title can be loaned out for in the associated textbox.
- Click the 'Save' button to save your settings.
This is a default setting that will be applied to the entire library. However, you can also set specific loan periods for specific titles, which will override this setting.
