The Snapplify team is always looking for ways to help you save time so that you can focus on academic success. Creating a desktop shortcut allows you to quickly access Engage from your computer.
Creating a Desktop Shortcut on Windows
If you’re using Windows, the steps for creating a desktop shortcut depend on your browser.
Chrome
To create a desktop shortcut using Chrome:
Open Chrome and go to Engage.
Open the menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the browser.
Navigate to More Tools, then select Create Shortcut.
Enter a name for the shortcut (we recommend ‘Engage’).
Confirm your selection.
The shortcut will now appear on your desktop.
Microsoft Edge
To create a desktop shortcut using Microsoft Edge:
Open Microsoft Edge and go to Engage.
Open the menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the browser.
Hover over Apps, then select Install this site as an app.
A confirmation window will appear—select Install.
Once the installation is complete, a shortcut will be created on your desktop.
Firefox
To create a desktop shortcut using Firefox:
Open Firefox and go to Engage.
Resize the Firefox window so you can see both the desktop and the browser on your screen.
Select the address bar to highlight the URL.
Drag and drop the URL from the address bar onto your desktop.
The shortcut has now been successfully created.
To remove the shortcut from your desktop, simply select the icon and hit the delete button on your keyboard.
Creating a Desktop Shortcut on Apple MAC
For Apple Mac users, follow these steps to create a shortcut on your desktop or dock:
Open Safari, Chrome, or Firefox and go to Engage.
If creating a desktop shortcut, resize the browser window so both your desktop and browser are visible.
Select the address bar to highlight the URL.
Drag and drop the URL onto your desktop or to the right side of the dock.
Your shortcut is now ready to use.
You will be able to reach Engage by clicking on this icon in future.
To remove the shortcut from your desktop, simply right-click on the icon and select the option to move it to the trash/bin.
To remove the shortcut from your dock, drag the icon out of your dock until you see ‘Remove’ (then you can let go of the mouse button), or drag the icon to the trash-can icon in your dock and release the mouse button when you see ‘Remove from Dock’.
